1230 TWC Web training

I just had a website training session with Jackie which I found really useful. Although I have already put quite a bit up on my profile I can now see how to improve on it. Plus I also know how to blog!

What a Week!

This week, Penny and I are now Ambassadors for Encouraging Women into Franchising, so watch this space for further information about that.

We met more inspiring women who have just started or are about to start their businesses through the BusinessLink Conferences – What’s Stopping You? in Basingstoke and Farnham and on Thursday we will be at the Copthorne Hotel, Slough, so please come and see us. We also met Helen Pointer who produces the most amazing caricatures who we’re delighted to say will be at 1230 AOB? on 17 March. If you’ve not booked yet – hurry, hurry…… as a business woman you wouldn’t/can’t want to miss out on the great line-up, and the astonishing items generously sponsored by a wide range of businesses as well as meeting other like-minded women. Please check out the web site for full details and booking. Look forward to seeing you soon and have a great week!

Magical Moments

What an exciting week! In less than the time it takes to draw breath Penny and I had stepped into a lift and found ourselves on the 37th floor of 1 Canada Square, Canary Wharf. That’s the building in the heart of the City that you can see, it seems, from almost anywhere in the UK on a clear day!

In association with Frank Usher Fashions this year’s 1230 charity event in support of Ovacome, the charity supporting those affected by ovarian cancer, is being held in 37th floor of 1 Canada Square, Canary Wharf. So, quickly, put 25 September 2009 in your diaries… this is going to be a stunning event – we will also be joined by top magician Matthew Duggan. Details to follow, and oh! from today Frank Usher Fashions are generously offering 20% discount on all Frank Usher Group products at Frank Usher at Mill Hill, 129 The Broadway, Mill Hill, NW7 4RN and Frank Usher at Browns, 7 Highview Parade, Redbridge Lane East, Essex,IG4 5ER

A Lively Meeting

Thank you to all who attended the 1230 Sevenoaks Meeting today. It was lovely to see regular attendees alongside new faces.

There were many new businesses represented there today that have taken off in the last few months.
More and more women are starting their own businesses and it is exciting seeing emerging markets in these challenging times

Women are also very adept at diversifying and reinventing themselves, taking their skills into new roles.

Wanda Woolcott was there with her Miss Captain/Captain Tortue Spring clothings range, Thank you Wanda for generously donating a £20 gift voucher for our business card draw.

All in all an inspiring meeting.

Introducing myself – and a new approach to holidaying

I’m thrilled to be a member of 1230. My “home” group is Mayfair – but I plan to get about and will hopefully meet many of you over the coming months.

I should be in for an eventful and exciting time this year. Working alongside a small team, I intend to put a 45 year old Swiss holiday company called Hapimag firmly on the UK map. For those of you who haven’t heard of it (that will be most of you), Hapimag’s proven long-term holiday system is a superb, flexible alternative to conventional holidays, holiday property ownership or timeshare investment. Although it has around 2,000 members in the UK (140,000 overall), the UK membership has come about primarily through existing member referrals, as opposed to proactive marketing. So the growth potential is huge.

We’ve been busy reviewing Hapimag’s marketing materials, adapting them and in some cases completely revamping them to suit the UK market. As anyone who has worked with international companies will testify, it just isn’t enough to produce a translation of your brochure! We went right back to the drawing board to communicate the benefits of Hapimag membership under four key themes: It’s a Holiday, It’s an Investment, It’s a Lifestyle, It’s a Legacy. And we had a great time looking through the beautiful photographs of the 58 resorts to decide which should feature in the new literature.

Anyway, we’re pretty pleased with the new Information Pack, which has just arrived from the printers. We’re also creating a simple UK website at www.hapimag.co.uk to give people a snapshot of what Hapimag is about and enable them to request further information. This will complement the main website at www.hapimag.com, which goes into much more detail about the destinations and the company.

Only trouble is… all this has made me SO desperate for a holiday!

Very much looking forward to attending this Thursday’s meeting in Mayfair.

You must watch this!

What a Message

Weigh Out on Youtube!

Yesterday CiCi and I spent the day (and night!) making 6 short films for Youtube. We had managed to get an experienced producer, Bunny Martin, to film us in exchange for coming on one of our Weigh Out weekends before Christmas. CiCi and I both have a Theatre/TV background, in fact we met at drama college about 28 years ago!! The experience was great fun and we’re really pleased with the results (especially as most of the films were achieved in one take).
We talk about stress, fatigue, escapist and addictive overeating. Also we are in the process of having our Weigh Out website designed and we are very excited because it is likely to be ready in a couple of weeks. All we need to do now is work out how to upload yesterdays creativity on to youtube! We’ll let you know when we have.

Neat Networking……

Lovely to see some great networking taking place at the 1230 East Grinstead Meeting today.

Many thanks to Judy Bowen-Jones from The Holloway Acupuncture Clinic for her most informative talk ~ which combined the history of Traditional Chinese medicine with its practical uses today. Oh and we all enjoyed the post lunch exercises !

Thanks also to Christine Wise ~ my right hand at these events!

And thank you to all who attended and who make the group what it is ~ inspiring, motivating and supportive.

Could Hypnotherapy help you to survive the Credit Crunch..

….or Recession, or whatever we are supposed to call it now? If you’d like to know, then come along to 1230TWC Woking on Wednesday 18th February when Cath Stamper, Hypnotherapist with the Skin and Laser Clinic, will be our guest speaker.

Sticking to a commitment really works

“Don’t travel unless you absolutely have to,” the ticket office man at Lewes Station said to me. “Travel at your own peril!” This was the challenge given to my business partner Julie Mann today. We have our Weigh Out Harley Street four week February Course starting this evening at 6.00. Sometimes it takes extraordinary behaviour to go beyond where we would normally get stopped. Jules phoned me from Lewes – “No trains C, but I am going to Brighton.” So off to Brighton she went and arrived in London, against all the odds at 1.30. Most people give up on themselves when it gets difficult. Weigh Out and EFT focuses on staying committed to taking care of ourselves and not giving up. With all the challenges that we face today, whether, the economy, relationship, health or the weather, EFT offers a lifeline to changing the way we relate to ourselves and the world at large. See Penny Denby’s blog for her thoughts on the January Weigh Out course.
