Croydon & Purley has extended Bring a girlfriend month into October
Next Croydon meeting is Tuesday 7th Oct and Val and I decided to carry on the ‘Bring a girlfriend’ theme into October. If your a member of 1230 TWC and you bring a girlfriend to Octobers Croydon/Purley meeting you eat FREE. Your guest pays the non member cost of £22.00. Your guest doesn’t have to be in business or even working, they could be a friend or a relative. Women are natural networkers and without even realising it we network all the time. 1230 TWC has a wide variety of members and visitors offering all sorts of products and services. Growing benefits of 1230’s online network
Over the past few weeks I have visited a number of 1230 groups in different areas and one of the things I have noticed is how many 1230 members are now actively using the website to promote their own business events and special offers. It is great to see how many times each week new offers and events are added making each visit to www.1230.co.uk a truly dynamic experience. It is also a great way to highlight some of our fantastic 1230 member businesses.
This month there are several excellent offerings for fabulous beauty and therapeutic treatments and an introductory offer for 10% off the first month of bookkeeping and admin services to all 1230 members!
As I write there are 19 events for business women in the 1230 calendar for the remainder of September and October and Christmas specials are already being posted so look in the calendar and you won’t be disappointed if you book in ahead! There’s something for everyone.

Kirsty Nichol Competes in Miss Europe & World Junior 2008 Final
Kirsty Nichol from Farnborough will be representing the UK at the international finals of Miss Europe & World Junior 2008. The yearly run competition is eligible for girls between 15 –21 years old.
18 year old Kirsty battled through the tough UK heat on Sunday 31 August, where the selected 20 finalists took part in talent and an evening dress round. The UK heat and Kirsty’s crowning moment was televised on Sky Channel 184 (BEN TV) on Friday 12 September.
Before Kirsty goes to the international final she will be treated to a Decleor Expert Essential facial (for normal to dehydrated skin) and a luxury Decleor facial and body travel set from local business owner and senior beauty therapist, Caroline Webb from Shine in Woking.
Caroline says “Kirsty and I have worked together on her beauty pageant preparations before and I am privileged to have supported her. Kirsty is a beautiful person who is a very talented singer songwriter who deserves to do well in both her singing and modelling career. I am excited that Kirsty can tour Europe with the other hopefuls and will be competing in the final. I would like to wish her lots of luck.”
40 countries will compete for the title of Miss Europe & World Junior 2008 on 3 October. The finals of the competition will take place on the cruise ship the “Norwegian Gem” as it sails between ports in Italy, Spain and France.
Kirsty is excited to be visiting the Czech Republic to meet the current 2007 holder of the Miss Europe & World Junior title. She is especially looking forward to performing her chosen song “Fields of Gold” on live TV. The winner will have an amazing experience of travelling around the world to attend public engagements to gain support for many different worldwide charities. The competition final will be televised in the competing counties at a later date. Programme scheduling had not been confirmed before this article went to publication.
