Claire Young at 1230 Mayfair

Thanks Amalia for a really enjoyable networking meeting. It was Beach Glamour’s first 1230 Mayfair meeting and will by no means be the last. We met some very interesting people; many will hopefully turn out to be good business contacts. The highlight of the day was meeting Claire Young. She was so interesting and a really enthusiastic speaker. Hearing about her background and achievements were an inspiration to us all. What a lovely lady she is!

Have some fun!

I have been 40 this week and am taking the opportunity to go for it! I had a fantastic party with all my friends and had the best time. This week I am dancing in a show for the first time since I was 15. It is quite terrifying but enormous fun. I am exhausted but exhilerated. It got me round to thinking, as Louise and I have just finished teaching our first Stress Management course that one of the best things you can do is to try to really have a laugh. You may not be round this way again so try to really enjoy the experience!

PS I am going to need a good massage after this week – know anyone?!

Cut To The Chase Croydon Launch

Holiday time ….

Last week I spent a fantastic five days in the beautiful Shopshire hills. I was taking part in an Arvon Foundation creative writing course. I can totally recommend the experience to any would-be writers.

One of my fellow students has a little house in Montpelier (South France) and she would like to swap her house for lodgings in the UK starting from about 27 July.

Penny Denby

Style…..

and business! Today’s 1230 TWC East Grinstead meeting was held in the beautiful surroundings of Denny Gaskell’s home. Denny whose business Metamorphosis specialises in home-staging properties for sale or rental, in order to achieve maximum return on investment, was the perfect hostess providing us with a delicious lunch and the comfortable stunning surroundings of her home, which demonstrated beautifully how Metamorphisis can transform surroundings with Denny’s ease and expertise. Denny also provides an interior style service for Show Homes and corporate properties. We all put 21 August in our diaries as the day that 25 Homes magazine is photographing Denny’s home and I know that a high percentage of those attending booked appointments for Denny’s services there and then!

At around 2.45 pm I left everyone there busily exchanging business cards and appointments with each other, and I promised to let everyone have details of Twitter courses and mentors!

From there I drove to the mid-summer SEEDA networking meeting in the stunning surroundings of Cherkley Court – owned by the Beaverbrook Foundation and set in 400 acres of park, gardens and woodland.

Believe me, it was all work, but both venues were truly a treat and I would urge you to visit both as soon as you can!

After a day peppered with difficulties, not least because I had to return to London to Fredericks Restaurant in the Angel where I had earlier listened to inspirational speaker Barbara Cassani MBE, to collect my mobile!

Malmesbury 1230 Launched!

1230 TWC has reached the South West, and 13 wonderful talented women attended the launch of Malmesbury 1230 TWC. Thank you so much to Jackie and Penny for coming down to support the event, and thank you to all those that attended – we are truly off to a flying start!

Holidays are in the air – in more ways than one!

I was intrigued to read earlier this week about the latest ploy of travel agents desperately trying to boost flagging sales. I gather they’ve been pumping exotic aromas into their shops, hoping to remind customers of magical moments from previous holidays and entice them into making a booking.

Evidently the aromas range from orange groves to evoke the Mediterranean, new-mown grass to remind us of golf holidays, pina colada for romantic breaks and a sea-breeze scent for ocean cruises. I can’t begin to imagine what scent they may have conjured up to remind us of safari holidays!

It’s certainly true that consumers want real value for their money at the moment. That’s one of the attractions of Hapimag’s long-term holiday system.
