In the current April edition of glossy magazine ‘SoTunbridgeWells’, there is an article about 7 local business women ‘of a certain age’, who decided on a career change.I am one of the seven ladies featured, along with 1230 members Jan Comley, Lys Hix and Sue Carne. It was really good fun going along for the photoshoot and we all had lunch together on the day that the magazine went on sale.
The article is entitled ‘The Invisibile Generation.’ “They used to be considered invisible. Women who had reached a certain age were expected to become cardigan-wearing frumps. Not any more. Today they’re Fifty, Fabulous and Focused.”
With all this fame(what happened to the fortune bit?)and celebrity going on in my life at the moment, I will be fighting to get past the paparrazzi next time I go out my front door.

Caroline Marsh was such an inspiration yesterday at the Bristol 1230 Inaugural Meeting. 23 women listened as Caroline told us her life story from a childhood in Africa to being on Channel 4’s Secret Millionaire, her message was one of determination, focus and finding the right mentor to set you off on the right road.
A big thank you to Redwood Lodge Hotel and Country Club for providing a great venue, and also to Katie Moore and Fi Boughton for encouraging so many wonderful women to attend. It was also wonderful to have Jackie Groundsell, 1230’s founder, there to provide support and encouragement. Here’s to the next Bristol meeting on 6 April.

This evening I was interviewed on Internet Radio by the fabulous Kubi Springer on Sisters in the City LIVE. I also met totally awesome Andrea P. Vybz and Joanna Abeyie and Sandra – apologies Sandra for not noting your last name. What an inspiring team. I’m looking forward to meeting up with them all again and can’t wait to see Kubi with her film team in action on 16 March
Earlier in the evening I was privileged to attend the FMWF event Breaking the Mould careers conference for school girls.
Congratulations Lisa Buckingham for nurturing and identifying our new entrepreneurs!

What an exciting month! I’ve been so lucky this month to have been to 1230 TWC meetings in Sevenoaks, Croydon, East Grinstead, Kings Hill, Bromley, Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells. A great pleasure to have met so many new and familiar faces – everyone one with one thing in common – a true passion for their businesses and a desire to support and help others – OK, that’s 2!
A big Well Done! to new Managers Julia Thompson and Rebecca Sell.
A big Well Done! to Members Jill Shearer whose home group is Malmesbury, for being featured in Woman & Home and Denny Gaskell, Jan Comley and Lys Hix for being featured in So Tunbridge Wells.
A big Thank You! for excellent meetings to all our Managers and Franchisees.
Look forward to seeing you all again soon – if not before, at the Conference on 16 March
