Christmas is coming early to Wimbledon

I am just too excited for words.

1230 Wimbledon is having its very own “Christmas Fayre” on Monday 17th November (is that date in your diary yet?) as part of our regular monthly gathering.

Even better (in my humble opinion) is that we are going to be in FANCY DRESS!

So I am very busy at the moment trying to concoct a truly wierd and wonderful design, which will call into serious question my old skills at dressmaking (I thought it would be like riding a bike – you know, not totally forgetting those skills, but it seems not to be the case judging by the cuts on my fingers today).

The event has also reminded me that I must make some serious decisions about my Christmas page ….

So, do make sure you book to come along to our “Christmas Fayre” on Monday 17th November, what a brilliant way to start the week and kickstart your Christmas shopping! If you bring a friend then you will also get a free raffle ticket (all proceeds to go to Ovacome), thanks to Teresa’s overwhelming generosity!

(Apologies to Teresa, our 1230 Wimbledon manager – I’m sure she hasn’t called it a Christmas Fayre but in my childlike excitement, that’s all I can think of today)

New murals on the way including; Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (whole room), Woodland Animals and The Crocodile Cafe!

Three exciting new murals that I have recently quoted for will be painted in the next few weeks. The Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is my first complete room. The Woodland Animals mural will be painted in a new baby’s nursery and the Crocodile Cafe Mural is on the exterior wall of a cafe in Muswell Hill. Check my website over the next few weeks for photos of these murals as they are completed www.starlight-murals.co.uk

Networking Serendipity at

Attended the “1230 We Mean Business” event the other week and it just shows that you only need to make one connection to make going to an event worthwhile.

The place was packed – those who’ve been to NRG know that we run very different events – but I met a lady who’s interest lies in social enterprise and social and health care – right up my street for the community project I’m working on.

We’ve since met for a coffee, heard lots more about each others plans, got on well (which is so important) and in the future we may be able to help each other out. No guarantees, no pressure of commitment but having established the connection and met for coffee that’s the start of another networking relationship.

Thanks J. & P.

Caroline from Shine takes part in NCT Pamper Party

Caroline was pleased to take part in the National Childbirth Trust (NCT) Woking Branch Pamper Party at Foxhills on 17 October.

The annual charity event consisted on many different therapists offering a range of treatments to supporters of the NCT. The mini treatments included massage, reflexology, head massage, manicure & pedicure.

Caroline did a mixture of 10 manicures/pedicure over the course of the evening. She allowed her clients to select two options from: cut and file, cuticle work, hand/foot massage or varnish so they could get the part of the treatment they preferred.

The event was expertly organisaed by Chyna Woolfenden and her team. The atmopshere on the night was the correct balance of bustle, relaxation and friendliness.

The NCT is the largest and best know childbirth and parenting charity in Europe. To find out more about Woking branches work click on the link below.
