Parachute Jump

Hi everyone
I am doing another, and probably my final, tandem parachute jump to raise money for St Raphael’s Hospice, Cheam, Surrey. My mother spent her last few days there and she and all my family were looked after so well and thus I want to say ‘thank you’ to them for all their care.

If you feel you could sponsor me then please go to my JustGiving page and add your donation.

Thank you so very much.

She’s At It Again!

Paola Bagnall intrepid Super Star of the Skies, is doing another parachute jump on 9 May, subject to weather conditions.

Paola says “Yes, I am doing it again — a parachute jump because I love the feeling of freedom and floating!

I’m raising money for St Raphael’s Hospice this time, where Mamma (my mother) spent her last few days, and I’d really appreciate your support.

It’s easy to donate online with a credit or debit card – just go to my JustGiving page:

http://www.justgiving.com/Paola-Bagnall

JustGiving sends your donation straight to St Raphael’s Hospice and automatically reclaims Gift Aid on all eligible donations, so what you give is worth even more. I hope you’ll join me in supporting St Raphael’s Hospice.

Should you have any problems donating then please contact the JustGiving help-desk email address (help@justgiving.com) and let me know too please”

Thank you so very much – love to you all
Paola”

Please help Paola….

National fame at last!!

Having had a photo shoot in my own home last August, the article has now been published in the current edition of ’25 Beautiful Homes.’ (Page 154) Whilst it is great to have this recognition, I am rather disappointed by the lack of marketing opportunity for my business-an interior styling/designing consultancy. If you blink you miss the passing reference! I, also, now have a certain sympathy with celebrities-I must have been misquoted on at least 90% of the text!! Anyway, I must be doing something right to have been featured in the first place! So, go right out and buy a copy-autographs on request-or at least have a quick look next time you are in W H Smith’s!

Fifty, Fabulous and Focused

In the current April edition of glossy magazine ‘SoTunbridgeWells’, there is an article about 7 local business women ‘of a certain age’, who decided on a career change.I am one of the seven ladies featured, along with 1230 members Jan Comley, Lys Hix and Sue Carne. It was really good fun going along for the photoshoot and we all had lunch together on the day that the magazine went on sale.
The article is entitled ‘The Invisibile Generation.’ “They used to be considered invisible. Women who had reached a certain age were expected to become cardigan-wearing frumps. Not any more. Today they’re Fifty, Fabulous and Focused.”
With all this fame(what happened to the fortune bit?)and celebrity going on in my life at the moment, I will be fighting to get past the paparrazzi next time I go out my front door.

Secret Millionaire Provides Inspiration at Bristol 1230 Launch

Caroline Marsh was such an inspiration yesterday at the Bristol 1230 Inaugural Meeting. 23 women listened as Caroline told us her life story from a childhood in Africa to being on Channel 4’s Secret Millionaire, her message was one of determination, focus and finding the right mentor to set you off on the right road.

A big thank you to Redwood Lodge Hotel and Country Club for providing a great venue, and also to Katie Moore and Fi Boughton for encouraging so many wonderful women to attend. It was also wonderful to have Jackie Groundsell, 1230’s founder, there to provide support and encouragement. Here’s to the next Bristol meeting on 6 April.

Wow! What an exciting evening!

This evening I was interviewed on Internet Radio by the fabulous Kubi Springer on Sisters in the City LIVE. I also met totally awesome Andrea P. Vybz and Joanna Abeyie and Sandra – apologies Sandra for not noting your last name. What an inspiring team. I’m looking forward to meeting up with them all again and can’t wait to see Kubi with her film team in action on 16 March

Earlier in the evening I was privileged to attend the FMWF event Breaking the Mould careers conference for school girls.

Congratulations Lisa Buckingham for nurturing and identifying our new entrepreneurs!

1230 TWC Rocks!

What an exciting month! I’ve been so lucky this month to have been to 1230 TWC meetings in Sevenoaks, Croydon, East Grinstead, Kings Hill, Bromley, Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells. A great pleasure to have met so many new and familiar faces – everyone one with one thing in common – a true passion for their businesses and a desire to support and help others – OK, that’s 2!

A big Well Done! to new Managers Julia Thompson and Rebecca Sell.

A big Well Done! to Members Jill Shearer whose home group is Malmesbury, for being featured in Woman & Home and Denny Gaskell, Jan Comley and Lys Hix for being featured in So Tunbridge Wells.

A big Thank You! for excellent meetings to all our Managers and Franchisees.

Look forward to seeing you all again soon – if not before, at the Conference on 16 March
