W stands for Woking and Wow!!
What a great meeting we had in Woking on Wednesday! 20 vibrant ladies including Penny and Jackie from HO and Beverley Cotterell who was a great guest speaker.

Networking with 1230 in Sevenoaks, Woking and further afield!
This week has been a busy one … and still another day to go!
The best experiences of the week were a visit to 1230 Sevenoaks (Manager: Beverley Hamilton) and to 1230 Woking (Manager: Fiona Syrett). Both meetings were very well attended and there were women from a wide range of business sectors.
I met accountants, a tax adviser, solicitors, business & life coaches, a dog trainer, a financial adviser, a foreign language school owner, a business jewellery retailer and women who can save you money on all your utility bills. There was a homeopathist, printer, internet marketing consultant, nutritionist, a computer specialist, an IT trainer, a child care business owner, interior designer and a photographer and more besides! It isn’t difficult to see how easy it is to make excellent business contacts at 1230 meetings. When I think that each of the people I have mentioned here – and there were many more I haven’t mentioned – probably has 500 or so contacts in their network the mind boggles with possibilities.
… and I heard this week of a 1230 member who has earned £27,000 in just over one year as a 1230 Member. Not bad for well under a £200 investment!

Calling all Independent Women!
Are you an Independent Woman? If so, you won’t want to miss Beverley Cotterell’s talk at 1230 Woking on 18th June.
This session will help us understand what measures we should be taking to enrich our financial futures.
The key message is that it is important for us all to take control of our finances and think of our futures. As wives and mothers we tend to put the rest of the family first and often forget our own needs, relying on our husbands / partners for our future needs.
Many of us are successful, self employed entrepreneurs and therefore we must think about our futures before it’s too late!
Beverley is a 1230 member and an Associate Partner of the St. James’s Place Partnership.

I was recently interviewed by Pooja on The Business Show for Westside Radio and enjoyed it so much I am now helping with the production of the show!
So, I am looking for future guests who want to be on radio. The show is aimed at 18-30 year olds interested in business and offers an entertaining and informative magazine style show featuring a range of business people.
Each show has an entrepreneur and an expert and we are keen to explore as many business angles as possible.

Innovation for Business Success
In partnership with South London Business and funded by the London Developoment Authority, the Sutton Chamber of Commerce held its Innovation for Business Success Event. We had some fantastic speakers, workshop presenters and exhibitors. The event was a great opportunity to find out about more resources to develop your business, but also was an excellent networking opportunity for all who attended.
Croydon will be holding their Innovation event in June and Wandsworth will be having theirs in September, so watch for those events or ask me how to find out more about getting support and resources for your business innovations.
The Market Place restaurant, Bristol
Thanks to the owner of The Market Place restaurant, 20 St Nicholas Street, Bristol, a disaster was averted when she ran down the road after Penny and me, when I’d forgotten my brief case. We had a fabulous meal, with all locally sourced produce, so if you are in the area, The Market Place is a must!
We also spent a fun few minutes saying “was it, wasn’t it?” to someone else in the restaurant with his family – it was Richard Dillane, star of Casualty and numerous stage, film and TV productions!

Hi Beverley,
Just a quick note to say thank you for yesterday. It was really great to come along and meet with you all, and I would definitely like to come along again.
I didn’t get to speak with everyone that was at the meeting this time, but I was very much impressed with the enthusiasm and entrepreneurialism of the group. (Of course, it was also just nice to get out and meet some new like-minded ladies for lunch!)
