Success!

Thank you to the ladies from 1230 TWC who supported the burlesque afternoon tea – what a fabulous time we had! Our brilliant performers were true to the definition of “burlesque” and had the audience in stitches (“burlesque” means to send up in a comic fashion).

Mr B The Gentleman Rhymer entertained us with his banjolele singing songs of Chap Hop (hip hop re-worked with the Queen’s English!!)

“Ethel” was our OAP who turns into a glamorous burlesque star with the help of some red shoes.

Miss Domino Burlesk went shopping with her visa cards in “Hasta La Visa Baby”.

Last but not least, Miss Glory Pearl performed a beautiful feather fan dance that captivated us all.

Shopping was on the menu for lots of ladies who took home burlesque goodies, hair flowers and beautiful vintage style jewellery (courtesy of Fiona Coppard’s Electra Jewellery).

It’s nearly time for Afternoon Tea(se)

Another whirlwind week has flown by and it’s getting closer to the burlesque afternoon tea!

More tickets have been sold this week and I’m almost hoarse from talking about it so much! The interest has been incredible (from ladies and gentlemen of all age ranges) and we’ve even got an exclusive full page spread from a nice glossy magazine (can’t say who at this stage).

Tunbridge Wells was Hot Today! and I don’t mean the weather

Following on from today’s Effective Networking workshop with points about getting “stuck in networking comfort zone”, I needn’t have worried. Jo, Christine, Julie, Gill, Denny, Dawn and Sara all immediately recognised their synergies and had it not been for parking meters I think they would still be there working out how they can help each other and work together!

So an extremely successful meeting. I’m looking forward to seeing you all again next month on 28 July when everyone is bringing someone new to the meeting.

Fed up of the World Cup?

What a busy week of talking to people about the burlesque afternoon tea!

Burlesque Afternoon Tea, Tunbridge Wells

Preparations are in full swing now for Tunbridge Wells’ first burlesque afternoon tea event.

It’s all very exciting (and nerve wracking!) as it starts to become a reality. Performers have been booked, the venue is primed and the shimmies are ready to shake!!

A glass of fizz on arrival will be followed by a full afternoon tea with delightful burlesque cabaret as a pleasant interruption.

It’s all happening at The Old School House, Chapel Place, Tunbridge Wells TN1 1YQ on Thursday 8th July 2010.

Doors open at 12.30pm and finishes at 2.45pm (in case any mum’s have to get to schools).

Business Writing workshop with Jackie Barrie

I work on the principle that I learn something new everyday, and boy did I learn!

Readers will know that I’m always writing newsletters, articles, emails…. etc, but accepted writing styles have changed so the workshop was extremely worthwhile.

If you’re looking to just sit and listen, then this isn’t for you. The exercises were valuable and great fun, so if you’re looking to improve your writing appeal, whether it be in an email, newsletter, advertisement, sales….. Jackie totally tailored this session and will do the same for you at the next workshop on 14 July in Beckenham.

I’ll be there to see what else I can learn, so I look forward to seeing you there!

West Wickham here we come!

At Keston Natural Health Practice we are are very excited! We moved into our new premesis at 22 Ravenswood Crescent on TUesday 1st June and its perfect. A dedicated treatment room and a larger room with flexibility for treatments or workshops. We aew also very lucky to have made contact with other therapists who will be offering their services for us (acupuncture, hypnotherapy and Bowen Technique)
Why not come and join us on Friday 11th or Saturday 12th when we are holding our Open Day to give you the opportunity to come and find out about our treaments and how they can help you with the stresses in your life.

More Burlesque…..

What an exciting weekend filled with some wonderful burlesque!

Went to the most fantastic show on Friday night in Hastings – aptly titled “Burlesk”. Filled with lots of great acts and plenty of whooping and hollering!

Sunday was spent taking tea, with a wonderful performer who is going to become a very integral part of BooBoo Burlesque with her unique skills and talents….. watch this space for more news. This lady will knock your socks off!
