Ankita has always been interested in the human body and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. She previously gained a degree in Biomedical Science at Brunel University, however Ankita’s passion for osteopathy remained. An interest in osteopathy derived from witnessing her mother suffer from chronic lower back pain for over 10 years, whereby she consistently attempted to aid her needs.
Ankita graduated from the British School of Osteopathy with a Masters of Osteopathy and is a registered osteopath with the general osteopathic council. After graduation, Ankita promoted osteopathy as a complementary medicine in India. She ran her own clinic in Mumbai and worked in a sports orthopedic hospital for 2 years, where she also mentored 5th year osteopathy students from Australia who interned in the hospital.
She strongly believes in a holistic and completely tailored approach to treatment. She is passionate about allowing patients to improve, understand and promote self-management of their conditions. She uses a variety of osteopathic techniques ranging from; soft tissue massage, joint manipulation and articulatory techniques including pain free joint movement and muscle energy techniques. She has also done a course in dry needling.
She enjoys working with patients of all ages, with a special interest in sports injuries, neck and upper back conditions, pregnancy and postpartum care.
